Russia’s leading search service provider and ISP – Yandex – announced a kick off of their Feedback Loop (FBL) mechanism. It’s run by ExpertSender partner – Return Path, and it will allow collecting complaint reports from all Yandex mailbox users.
Yandex’ product manager acknowledged the FBL is still in its beta, so occasional issues might still occur during processing requests. Feedback Loop is a mechanism that allows senders to identify recipients who mark their messages as spam. Every time subscriber reports a message as unwanted a complaint report is generated. This report is then forwarded to sender and allows to identify which user complained about previously received message. Receiving such information should always be followed by immediate removal of complaining user’s email address from a mailing list. This way spam complaints help in maintaining list hygiene but also improve email marketing programs by ensuring that subscribers are happy about received communication.
