The biggest challenge to your deliverability results are an ISP’s spam filters. So, how do you avoid being blocked by Gmail?
First, make sure your titles and the body of the email are to the point, that is, they are not misleading. Second, avoid words that make exaggerated claims and promises (e.g. 100% more, 100% free, 100% off, etc.) and words that create unnecessary urgency or pressure (Apply now! Call now! Click below!) Three, don’t use words that look shady, spammy, or indicate unethical behavior (Bulk email, Buy direct); also, don’t use words that are considered jargon or legalese. If you stick to these three general rules, you’ll be all set with deliverability to Gmail.
And for those looking for some more advanced tips, here’s one: take care of the key authentication methods, such as SPF, DKIM and DMARC. If you’re not familiar with these abbreviations, Google them and do some reading.
